missing.

If you haven't noticed by now all of our active listings have disappeared! I thought i would let you all know that ebay has replied to my email and are yet to conclude what exactly has happened to my 86 items and said they will be refunding all of my listing fees. This has happened at the worst possible time, the day before my auction was scheduled to close and i have no idea how to feel about the situation. I would like to think i am a very optimistic person so i have taken this all in my stride and looked at it as a blessing in a very ugly disguise. I would never willingly take any time off unless it was forced upon me and with so much going on right now with college going back this week i am thinking of taking it 'easy' over the next two weeks after i get my head around re listing all of the missing items. Ah, i want to cry.

But please don't stress, this store is my life and i have our next febuary collection all prepped and ready to go with photos being uploaded tomorrow night which you can see a sneak peek on our gpv facebook page :) I have 100+ new vintage pieces that i will be re listing with our 86 missing items so expect a HUGE STORE UPDATE in the next two weeks! I'm thinking of taking a road trip down south next week to scope out some untouched opshops in the middle of nowhere and return with even more amazing gems! See, when in the world would i have been able to do that, blessing in disguise?

oh, and the surprise i was talking about in the previous post will be up tomorrow! i cannot waittttt :) Here's some pieces that will be listed soon as well as this super cute dove i found and made into a hair clip. He'll be making a lot more appearances in the next couple of shoots :)

{Green jacket/stripe shirt/floral cropped jacket: vintage & all available in store soon!}

burberry.

I was staring at a wall of ribbons today when for some reason i realized that i haven't even posted my top ten picks for our febuary collection that is in store now! I have been so busy preparing a nice surprise for you all that will be revealed this sunday, another project that has been months in the making so i can't wait to show you, and seem to have lost track of the days and any concept i had of time. I also have thought of our next promotional giveaways and really really want to draw the winner of our YSL giveaway sooner than then 1st of March but am thinking against it. Believe me, it is such a strange feeling when you start arguing with yourself and i'm beginning to think i should start working outside in the sunshine with some fresh air if it was even feasible!

Our new listings will be up next tuesday with nearly 100 new pieces going up for auction. I had a wonderful op shopping trip yesterday in sydney and not only found the most divine vintage dresses but also pieces from zara, george gross and zimmerman! I also stumbled across a burberry jacket, checkered lining and all, for only $99 but couldn't justify spending the money on something i didn't completely love as it was a weird burnt orange color!? My dear friend amy who i like to call 'my sensible' talked me out of it and we went and spent $2.95 on chocolate thickshakes with oreos from macdonalds instead :)

Oh, and don't forget to enter our $100 giveaway with HOME or suggest your friends on facebook to go into the running to win our vintage YSL clutch!

new.

For what i did today i can't believe how much i enjoyed it. I woke up earlier than usual, quickly went to the shops to get more supplies like tissue paper & ribbon, started over locking, hemming, sending out over 45 items and constantly replying to emails. My wonderful friend amelia came over and we curled ribbon, ate purple zooper doopers, talked about how quickly summer passed us by, told secrets, laughed and literally ran to the post office only to throw three plastic bags of parcels at the postman as he was leaving on his 5pm curfew. I even had time to watch the news and enjoy the most beautiful afternoon i've seen all january, and to top it all off, the boys and i made fresh salmon with dill sauce on a bed of mashed potato and wilted bok choy for dinner. Talk about the simple things in life :)

89 new listings are also in store as of last night! I found some boho pieces that i really adore and thought i'd show you a couple. I'm making a trip up the coast tomorrow with pretty much my sister in law to scope out some new op shops and hopefully find something a little bizarre and different. I'm starting to get sick of the amount of floral dresses i see every week and the op shops around here are starting to run a bit dry, perhaps due to it being holidays, and i feel it's time to start venturing out. Road trip, anyone?

nervous.

I'm sure you can all feel my pain when i sit here and tell you how hard it is to try and get back in to the swing of things, and when i say swing of things, i mean work, not sleeping in, going to the gym and saving money again. So in other words... I've really 'let myself go'. I'm certainly still suffering from the Christmas bug where we can be carefree and run wild with hardly any responsibilities. But alas, with the new year beginning and the last episode of Dexter under my belt, i managed to achieve something today. Here's a sneak peek of our new stock for 2010 which will be up Tuesday the 5th of January from 7pm. i also have items from carla zampatti, veronkia maine, bettina liano, wrangler, cue and anthea crawford to kick off our first collection of the year. You can believe my horror when i realized that even though i divided all the stock i returned from Tasmania into two separate auctions for January, i still have 106 items going up for auction tomorrow night. onehundredandsix! I'm actually nervous to have so many items listed at once and am really not looking forward to the process of listing each and every one of these tomorrow morning.

It would be impossible to pick my top three favorites from such a large collectio
n so i thought i would post a handful of items. I'm also in a rush as i saw my first shooting star for 2010 & have a date with my balcony before i go to bed. So enjoy bella's, i'll see you in the morning :)

new.

After working like a maniac and borderline sweatshop worker for the past two days, i finally have 59 brand new items listed in store tonight. It is by far Gary's largest range to date with some of my absolute favorites on sale. I know I'm being completely biased, I feel like a clucky mother when her child takes their first steps, but i honestly feel every range is getting better and stronger and i'm finding it harder to part with some of these gems. With over 30 summer dresses listed I hope you all will find something you love & just in time for the Christmas holidays :) Have a look here to see our very first December collection.

elbows.

This is what my space looks like right now. I am up to my elbows, no, wait, let's say... eyebrows, in things i need to do for the store this week. I feel as if i'm drowning in new ideas and ever growing plans that i have for GPV and i can barely keep up with myself, therefor, mentally exhausted 12 hours a day. Self inflicted, of course :)

Here's a sneak peek of the 52 new items from our very first December collection waiting to be listed this Friday and Saturday night. This range holds two of possibly my all time favorite items i have found for Gary Pepper. One being this stunning backless one piece made from mini pleated, layered fabric and plunging mesh neckline. It's a rare occasion that something takes my breathe away but this one got me hook, line and sinker, and it's up for grabs this weekend for $12.00.

Not to be a tease but wait until you see the backless jumpsuit i have for ya'll... i die.

new.

NEW NOVEMBER LISTINGS are up tonight from 7pm! I would highly recommend having a look in our garypeppervintage store as i am absolutely smitten with this weeks finds. I am confident in saying that i have mastered that art of selflessness as i haven't kept one thing for myself. If you're reading this blog, you're obviously a vintage lover and would completely understand how hard this is for us.

I also decided to experiment with my photos this week. The sunglasses came off, the hair was let down, the same three poses and 'closed mouth half smile' were still there but I'm working on that too. I already know one of my New Years resolutions will be to keep changing and improving not only the store, but my photos too. When i have both feet firmly on the ground, i will be dedicating so much more time and effort into styling these shoots for ya'll. Promise.

This is such a quick post tonight. It's Friday and we're experiencing our very first pre- summer thunderstorm right now. It's also my best friends birthday tonight and we're wining and dining at a new Mexican restaurant opened by Ken West last week. There's nothing like the sound of rain, a warm evening breeze, 20 of your closest friends and a table full of greasy Mexican to start off your weekend :)

Top three favorites in store now:

1. Vintage Red lace Sienna dress.

2. Vintage cream Lace Victorian Pleat dress.

3. Vintage White Tuxedo Boyfriend blazer.

peaches.

My newly acquired double breasted peach jacket. It's nearly as delicious as the fruit and will be accompanying my tan when the temperature cools down in the evenings this season. Bring on summer!

chill.

Since opening GPV I've rarely kept anything for myself. But whilst in Tasmania i added to my vintage fur (faux, of course) and ankle boot collection. I thought keeping only two items out of thirty seemed fair, right? It's reaching 30 degrees here but i still can't part with these suede wedged booties. Yes, my feet are hot and slightly uncomfortable but they look so divine and were only $7! As for the fur coat, to avoid looking like a crazed Eskimo during the summer heat, that will just have to wait until next year. My new winter staples for 2010 :)

And to add to how much i just adore my new coat, when i slipped my hand into the pocket i happened to find, to my delight, two butter menthol wrappers, an empty tissue packet and a ticket for 'Grease' dated 1998. I've gathered that it must of been chilly in Hobart those 11 years ago. I felt as if my boyfriend had unintentionally done something cute like picked me a flower or made me a kite. I smiled and felt like saying "Oh, vintage. This. This is why i love you."

New listings are up for our first November range. Have a look here in store to see 40 brand new vintage pieces. It's been one of the busiest weeks so far. I'm juggling this store with work, college, the gym, Melbourne Cup and finding a new house. If anyone told you Ebay was easy, it's not. It's time consuming, exhausting, stressful and very hard work. Therefore, my gym sessions and sadly, my blog, suffered a little this week due to bad time management. But i did purchase a brand new overlocker, indulged in too much thai takeaway and started my Christmas shopping for the boy and family :)

I struggled to pick my top three favorites this week as there were too many i simply loved. Here they are:

1. Vintage black panel mini dress.

2. Vintage double breasted gold button vest.

3. Vintage full sequined over-sized cardigan.
