soft.

My topshop order finally arrived on friday! I've pretty much worn these socks all weekend and it looks like they won't be going anywhere anytime soon, i'm in love. They may have been double the price but we just don't have good quality knee highs here, or anywhere really? I'm still patiently waiting for my jeffrey campbell kicks to arrive and was hoping to debut them on the weekend, where in the world are theyyyy? I'm also thinking of auctioning off some of my heels from my personal collection in the next two weeks as my wardrobe is just overflowing with neglected beauties :) But to add to my favorites is this newly acquired knitted jumper that i decided on keeping for myself. It is unbelievably soft and ridiculously comfortable, something i think every girl needs in their wardrobe. Perhaps a little inappropriate for the warm weather here though. Like an idiot i had to wear it now and quickly realized that wool was such a bad choice. One thing is for sure, i've never been so excited for the colder weather to be upon us. Hello, old man winter, i'm ready and cannot wait to see you :)

A good night with great friends.
Nice toast with nicer marmalade :)

birthday.

I spent yesterday running around in the sun with my beautiful boyfriend and the nine helium balloons he bought me for my birthday, some pink, some pearl. We were celebrating a handful of things: my birthday, our 3 year anniversary and our last night together before he flew out to hawaii for 5 weeks to shoot the surf contest over there. We got a beautiful room at the crowne plaza and were upgraded to a room overlooking the ocean. We spent the rest of the night on the balcony with some take out thai, a bottle of wine and giggled at the fact we didn't have any plates to eat our food with. In the morning, i attempted to stuff myself silly with banana bread, fresh scrambled eggs, hash browns and fresh orange juice but was so disappointed by how weak my effort was. All you can eat breakfast is a hard thing to conquer! For some absurd reason i had my auction finish on my birthday and was unfortunately glued to my laptop the entire night, but business comes first and i could not be happier with all the amazing feedback you're all kindly giving so it's makes it all worth while. Oh, and i've had a couple of questions about this already so to clear things up, i turned 21 :)

New listings will be up tomorrow night, friday the 29th from 7pm so don't forget to have a look! Gary Pepper has just warmly welcomed some
new international friends with parcels being sent to the united states, london, canada, switzerland, norway and singapore so make sure you get in early so you don't miss out.

lookbook.

You know things are bad when you feel extremely guilty for not doing a post in two days, maybe this is the start to a very bad blog addiction? Anyway, things have been so crazy here the past couple of days, crazy as in 'i don't really know what to do with myself? Who are you, what day is it? do i go water the pot plants or make seventeen cupcakes?'.

Firstly, one of my mini projects will be up and running in the next day or so. We ha
ve collaborated with HOME, Australia's largest nightclub in Darling Harbor, Sydney, and have put together a special $100 gift voucher giveaway for Gary Pepper Vintage. More details will be posted tomorrow so i'll keep you all posted on how to get your hands on that exciting giveaway. I can also announce that there is a very high possibility that we will have our first national publication by March thanks to our favorite weekly magazine (no naming just yet, early days) and that i am also in the process of collaborating with an amazing Sydney based illustration artist who has been lovely enough to introduce me to so many more outlets for gary pepper, who knew people like that still existed?

And lastly, i happily joined the lookbook team on monday after receiving a personal email from yuri herself with an invitation. I don't think my cheeks will ever be the same, i was beaming ear to ear and am still trying to cope with the new found exposure it is creating for my store. With my blog getting daily hits in the thousands now, i can't even imagine who would even bother sitting at a computer reading my pointless babble?

So to all my new lookbook readers, welcome, i'm happy to meet you & i hope you
enjoy your stay! :) Talk about crazy, it's my birthday today and i couldn't have asked for a better start to the week. Seventeen cupcakes, anyone?

Want want want// need need need:

Clair inc has just updated their online store with their fabulous january listings for 2010. Unfortunately, i checked their blog too little too late and missed out on this amazing valentino jumper by a couple of hours, apparently it sold as soon as it went online and for only $345! I was surprised by how quickly i decided that i needed this (approx 3.2 seconds, seriously) and by how much i was willing to spend. But i was more surprised when i emailed belinda at clair inc inquiring about this little gem and ended up telling her, for some unknown reason, that i like to blog about her store, she then replied "Your blog is BEAUTIFUL! Love your ebay shop. So good to see a stylish ebay store in Australia with great trend based vintage. Beautiful styling too!". woah, if only you knew how much that means to me, belinda. If only you knew...

You can check out claire inc here or join her facebook page here. I would hi
ghly suggest it as her new items are defiantly swoon worthy...

I've been dying to try and outfit that would go with these amazing shoes i picked up when i went to Japan last year. I found them in this little underground store in harajuku and it was instant love. Luckily, i found these vintage cream pants at the start of the week that i tailored into super cute shorts and they are the exact same color as my heels! Originally, the shorts were for the store but i think i will just have to keep them now. Throw in a pair of crochet socks and an over sized colored clutch and i'm done!

These are my friends charlotte and eliza. We decided to go out on the weekend and after a few bottles of wine we were having one of the best nights i've had in ages. I was worried i may have forgotten how to dance but soon realized that i still had it; terribly uncoordinated moves and all sorts of embarrassing.. perfect. I hope you all had a good weekend too :) I have a sneak peek of my new listings going up tonight on our GPV facebook page so if you're not a fan yet, be sure to join!

secrets.

Did anyone else see postsecrets update status yesterday on facebook? It really made my day.

"
This morning when the Canadian Custom's Officer asked. . ."Occupation"? He made a strange expression when I replied, "I collect secrets on postcards".

I seem to be getting the same reaction when i now tell people 'I sell vintage online'. I suppose it does sound really strange and people can't see how many different avenues it can take you nor
how it could be a worthy career choice. Everything is a little hush hush here at Gary Pepper headquarters right now but i have some exciting new projects that will be up in the next 2- 4 weeks. I'm bursting with excitement and really wish i could elaborate more but for now i will just have to keep these to myself, and sometimes, not all secrets are worth sharing :)

I also just purchased this book called "Other people's love letters: 150 letters you were never meant to see" by Bill Sharpiro. I was actually on amazon looking for the new postsecret book when i stumbled across this one instead. It is a beautiful booked filled with love letters written by anyone and everyone from helicopter pilots and sociologists to lawyers, stoke brokers and film makers, all sent in anonymously like postsecret and just as wonderful and equally brilliant. I'm a sucker for love and it inspires me every single day. I cannot wait to get this in the post!

giftvouchers.

I spent this afternoon making these 'cute as a button' gift vouchers for Gary Pepper and they turned out exactly how i wanted them to. I found some beautiful metallic pearl paper at spotlight and used vintage fabric as the buttons top layer, i then tied them together with fine blue ribbon on the side and it opens up like a card. Simple! Each one is made from different vintage fabric and no two are ever the same. I like the idea as i feel it represents the store, all my pieces are one of a kind and completely unique :) They are available now in $20, $50 or $100 vouchers with free postage! I think they're the perfect present for friends, family, the girl who has everything or any vintage lover. I suppose you all know what to ask for your birthday now?

These were all beautiful gifts i received last week from my beloved friends. All inspiring and practical in their own unique ways, each representing how much my friends know me too well. 'Lonely planet' to start planning luke and i's trip to new york, 'the satorialist' for inspiring street style, 'shopping for vintage' to help me find the best vintage stores when i am traveling, and 'Visionaries' to provide insight from the biggest creative forces behind the fashion industry today. This book is also full of beautiful fashion photography and inspiring quotes, exactly my kind of book to compliment a hot cup of english breakfast and a warm cosy bed.
