Apologies in advance for going missing for nearly a week. Things here are moving so quickly and I feel like I'm finally getting on top of my work, amongst juggling new projects, ideas and travel plans. This could be because I've recently hired a new assistant. Her name is Hayley and she's an incredibly hard worker and extremely efficient, so it's becoming easier to manage the store and keep up with everything. I am flat out teaching her the ropes so hopefully she can manage the store when I go on a buying trip to the US in the next few months.

I also just escaped for a little holiday in Sydney over the weekend and have come back feeling refreshed and inspired to move even faster. Upon my return I was so happy to see one of my little DIY ideas had finally been finished. Like every other girl, I've always been in love with peter pan collars but they're so hard to find, so I thought why not make them yourself? I've wanted to make these for so long and I couldn't be happier with how they've turned out. Here is a sneak peek of the adorable vintage knits I have coming for the store tomorrow afternoon, customized with vintage lace, crochet and doily peter pan collars. Some even have a cute doily front pocket finished off with a little vintage button! All one off designs so no two are ever the same, which after all is what makes vintage so beautifully special. I hope you love :)

How adorable are these button bobby pins and hair elastics? They're new but at the same time old, as each one has been handmade from different vintage fabrics lying around my office. I never like to waste anything around here so I have about 40kg of excess vintage fabric which are cut offs from all of the dresses and skirts we hem shorter. I have so many ideas of what I would like to do with the fabric but there is never enough hours in the day. Recently I've been inspired to get these ideas into motion and luckily enough I found a little old lady who has the time to help me. Can't wait to show you the other items I have coming for the store but for now please enjoy a sneak peek of my new hair accessories, which will be landing in store early next week and constantly changing in vintage prints and colours. Bobby pins are $10 a set and hair elastics are $12 a set so be sure to add a few to your order before you checkout! I promise you'll look "cute as a button" in them :)

How adorable are these vintage shoe clips? When they arrived on my door step i couldn't believe how easy they would be to make. Simply take a small bow (which you can easily make yourself), buy a packet of shoe clips, hot glue them together and then add them to your heels or flats to make them that little bit sweeter! They also double as hair clips too! If you love bows just as much as i do you can even add a small safety pin to wear them as brooches, which you can add to practically anything. So simple.

Just a few photos Luke took of me the other day before he flew out to Queensland for the weekend. I'm used to coming across hundreds of button up shirts in every print and colour when i go op shopping but i was really taken by this simple peach one. After developing a slight complex about wearing shirts (i over killed them a few years ago) i decided to give mine a fresh makeover by cutting out the shoulders and sleeves. It was super easy and i loved how only a few small cuts could change this look completely, and also how my complex seemed to fade away quite quickly.

Unfortunately it was really windy where we took these photos so it doesn't really flatter my outfit too much - I had to tuck the shirt into my shorts so i didn't resemble a peach balloon half the time! Usually it falls really beautifully from the shoulders down and after altering this one I'm fighting the urge to race around my office and cut up every shirt i have in stock right now.

This amethyst stone double knuckle ring is a sneak peek of some of the amazing creations i have coming for the store from our new jewelry designer in the US. She's a super talented lady and as sweet as pie so i can't wait to introduce you all to her store! Right now she's busy working away on rings like these and they should be available to order in the next two weeks. There will be single and double amethyst stone rings as well as some lovely stone necklaces available. I absolutely fell in love when i received mine so i hope you all feel the same way!

Everything is quickly coming together here and i can't wait to show you all what i've been so busy working on. I have a feeling the next three months are going to be out of control and i'm preparing myself for many sleepless nights. Is it disturbing if i'm actually looking forward to it? Actually, don't answer that. I already know the answer...

C R O C H E T F I E L D S.

So here are a few photos from the other day when i was busy celebrating with my coloured confetti. The day was just perfect and everything had a beautiful whimsical feel to it so I wore some easy neutrals and my new favourite necklace i made. It came about when i felt like my outfit was still missing something so i grabbed a crochet doily, cut it, added some ribbon and wore it as as a neck piece. It's actually one of the DIY projects i am going to show you all how to make but i literally made this as i was running out the door so it's not completely finished yet. I plan on adding some cream ribbon around the neckline where you can easily tie it into a bow on the back, or front, whichever, and wear it with pretty much anything. I also tried to photograph my ring which has engraved "It's never too late to be what you might have been" - a quote by George Elliot and a gift form Alex and Eleanor. I feel like it has a whole new meaning since starting gary pepper so i decided to wear it to add a little personal touch to the celebrations :)

I think this is really one of the most beautiful places i've ever been. I've always adored large open meadows and am constantly talking about how i'm still looking for the perfect one so when luke found this place he immediately took me there, and i still can't believe how perfect it is. I'm not even kidding when i tell you there are butterflies chasing each other around and tiny little yellow ladybirds scattered throughout the pastel pink grass. It was just insane. I loved it so much that i took Alex and Laura back there that very afternoon where we enjoyed one of the funniest afternoons i've had in ages. We got a little carried away picking wands and somehow ended up having a contest with who knew more spells from harry potter. Apparently, with the help of wikipedia, i didn't know as many as i thought!
