B O W I E .

I thought I would start off my RAFW posts with the last show to close what has been a whirlwind week of Australian fashion, Bowie. I don't know if it was the white smoke cascading from the roof, the large salt rock lake covering the runway or perhaps the delicate origami crowns adorning each models heavenly high hair, Bowie really was out of this world beautiful and made me feel like I had somehow stumbled into one of Bowie Wong's dreams. What made this show even more spectacular was having the girls walk by you so slowly it looked like they were floating down the runway, which also made it easy to see the garments so close you could see the amount of time and attention to detail that went into each one of his gowns. Dresses made completely out of feathers, structured tulle and tiny little petals and flowers in white, black, and red. Finished off with touches of Japanese floral wall paper woven throughout the dresses or wrapped around the models head. It's no wonder Bowie closed RAFW. To me, It's what dreams are made of and the icing on what has been a very surreal week.
