A few months ago I collaborated with Jysla Kay and spent the afternoon wandering Centennial Park in the rain. Originally this was intended for an 8 page editorial spread but due to some misinterpreted fine print we were lucky enough to be able to keep this for ourselves instead, and share it with our beautiful readers at the same time. It's the perfect way to introduce you all to Jysla, the talented young photographer who I've been shooting with since Luke was away. Luckily for me she seems to be the pea to my pod, with each shoot flowing in perfect harmony and our creative eye completely in sync. The result? A breezy shoot in the woodlands, inspired by vintage past loves, a crisp autumn breeze, cozy afternoons and the haunting voice of Lana Del Rey. "Life is sweet like cinnamon, like a dream I'm living in", which is kind of how I'm feeling right now with a few big changes on the horizon...

PETAL PLATOON

Every time I shoot with Zanita I'm always left in absolute awe. She manages to create those images you never thought you were capable of creating, and at the same time provides invaluable guidance with such ease and grace. Every time I get in front of the lens I find myself repeating tips and advice I've learnt from her, which seems to be so embedded into my memory now that for some reason every time I see a bunch of flowers I have to fight the urge to shove them up against my chest! This is an out take from a shoot we did a few months ago which is actually one of my all time favourites now. We've got a few exciting projects coming up so I can't what to see what she creates next, she's an absolute goddess in front and behind the lens!

TINSEL

Never would I have imagined myself to be so drawn to such an embellished and sequin heavy piece, but to be honest I'm such a fan of anything Aje creates I'm not surprised they were the ones to turn me. Known for their striking statement yet highly wearable pieces, with a strong focus on quality, construction, affordability and a touch of sequin embellishments, Aje has been my go-to secret every time I have an important event or occasion (You might remember the rose gold sequin dress I wore to the Cosmopolitan FFF Awards last year here.) The strongest element I have to note is the insane quality of any sequin piece I have by them. The fabric has the perfect amount of elasticity that the sequins quickly mould to your body which feels like a second skin, making it unexpectedly comfortable and easy to wear during the day or night. Bold, but not binding or over the top. I'm highly anticipating their MBFWA debut later this year!

Also, a special thank you to Adrian, Eddie and Bree for helping dress me so last minute for LMFF. These sequin pants are on a whole other level and made me feel shiny and new, even though I was feeling so incredibly ill this day. Nothing beats a touch of tinsel when you're feeling run down.

Sometimes I see an outfit by one designer that is so perfectly put together I can't help but want to wear it from head to toe. Usually this is something I try to steer clear from as I see it as too easy. No styling, no layering, no thought into how to make it your own, but I suppose the saying goes "Why fix it when it's not broken?". Well that's how I felt about this stunning two piece by Style Stalker when I first laid eyes upon it and couldn't imagine wearing it any other way. So incredibly versatile when worn separately or easily worn together for an elegant evening look. Luxurious feeling fabric with thigh high splits, accompanied by an exquisite top with slits both on the front and back and finished with a delicate bow tie. I really couldn't - and wouldn't - want to wear it any other way. The perfect flowing gown that makes me feel like I just stepped off a Gucci runway, with silver two toned heels and a glittery sea shell bag for a futuristic cosmic twist.

FLORALS WITH FLEUR

For the past two years I can honestly say I've been a proud supporter of the pajama pant 'trend'. Although when I say pajama pant I actually mean fleecy warm pants that usually come in an array of embarrassing but equally hilarious prints and colours. Working from home comfort always comes first, so when these beautiful versions of the pajama pant started to surface I honestly could not have been happier. These silk pants by Fleur Wood have to be one of my favourite finds so far, and I cannot stop wearing them both inside and outside the house. Worn with a simple tee during the day or styled with a full sequined jacket for an easy evening look. Love clashing prints and textures that for some reason seem to work? This is just a sneak peek of my latest post for Harper's BAZAAR Style Network so be sure to head over to see the rest of my post HERE.

MISS SHOP BLOGGER PROJECT

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.us
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting with my favourites Pedestrian TV for an exciting new campaign with Miss Shop Myer, one of Australia's largest and leading department stores. The Miss Shop Blogger Project has brought together 15 Australian bloggers to pose for various themed shoots in vibrant locations to model their new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Akila Berjaoui, Elvis Di Fazio, Nirrimi Firebrace and Thom Kerr were also asked to come on board to capture the youthful essence that is the Miss Shop brand. My series was a sixties pop theme, with bright pops of colour, knee high socks and over 30 helium balloons making this possibly one of the funnest shoots I've ever been a part of. I've always wondered what I should wear to a game of Badminton or what I would look like with a short bob with matching bangs... Can't wait to see the rest of the girls (Zanita from ZanitaZanita, Mandy from Oracle Fox, Sara from Harper and Harley, Jess from Tuula to name a few) shoots as their released over March on the Pedestrian TV site here.

RIVER

(Therese Rawsthorne Top, River Island Skirt, Zara Coat, Theyskens' Theory Heels, Vintage Necklace, Michael Kors Watch, Marcs Bag)

I've always been a fan of knee length pencil skirts yet never managed to find one I absolutely loved. I'm sure any vintage shopper will know what I'm talking about when I say we come across so many of these during our travels, but usually there's something not quite right about them. It's either an odd fit, odd fabric or they're just odd in general. So when I spotted this scarf print skirt by River Island I was immediately drawn to its beautiful fit, length and unique yet easily wearable print. I've been styling it with this beautiful citrus yellow top by Therese Rawsthorne and an apple green coat to really make the pattern pop, or for business meetings I've opted for a simple white shirt and colourful lip for a more toned down yet youthful look. Only downfall is you can't really walk very fast (this is crucial for me as I'm always running late!) when this particular fabric is so binding. Tempted to make my own split up the back but I know this would just fall into my 'need to-do but will never do it because I don't have enough time' pile. I'm still adamant that I won't let that list defeat me...

NEON

(Sass and Bide 'Walk Away' Dress, Bec & Bridge 'Blake' Blazer, Claire Aristides Ring, Shampalove Clutch, Charlotte Olympia Boots)

So it's officially Autumn here in Australia... I still don't know how to feel about this seeing as we barely had a summer this year but at least this Sass and Bide dress lets me have the best of both seasons. Made entirely from the most intricate and delicate lace, its long yet lightweight sleeves make it cool enough to wear during summer and warm enough in winter when styled with a luxe (or even gold metal tipped?) blazer and ankle boots. This citrus satin slip isn't too bold when hidden beneath a sheet of beautiful lace but nicely compliments simple hints of neon. I think I'm trying to hold on to summer just that little bit longer as bright pops on colour keep finding their way into my daily beauty routine...

LATTE

(Alice McCall Top, Zara Jeans, Benah Rose Gold Cuffs, Vintage Belt, Jennifer Hawkins for Siren Heels)

Sea blues, pastel hues and a iced caramel latte with extra cream on top - the perfect way to cool down in this summer heat. Absolutely love this top by Alice McCall, with its low cut out sides helping to keep you seductively cooler this season. If you haven't noticed I seem to have taken a liking to more minimal yet structured pieces, and these cute cap sleeves mixed with this interesting architectural print are bold enough to be worn simply with jeans and a pair of coloured heels. No excessive layering and minimal accessories, a few of my favourite things. Worn with these rose gold cuffs by Benah to add a touch of glimmer and a matching green liquid eyeliner to keep it fun.

A big congratulations to Anna Latson - our winner of the $1,000 my-wardrobe.com giveaway! Please make sure to check your emails and Thank you to everyone who entered. Hopefully I can run another giveaway very soon!
